Collision Repair and Refinish Technology Training Program

Universal Technical Institute’s collision repair and refinishing technology (CRRT) curriculum (auto body school) is based on the industry standard “I-CAR Enhanced Delivery” and is ASE/NATEF Master certified in all five areas of auto body repair, including:

BMW Step

Work on the latest BMW models and advanced automotive technologies as you gain in-depth training. BMW’s Service Technician Education Program (STEP) is a 27 – week intensive training course.

Cummins Diesel Training Program

The Cummins diesel training elective focuses on Cummins mid-range and heavy-duty engines. It’s 12 weeks of major engine work, including intensive computer, the hands-on, classroom, and laboratory-based training. And it gives you a 3- to 5-year head start on Cummins certification.

Daimler Trucks Technician Program

Daimler Trucks of North America (DTNA) moves through its seventh decade in business with its brands – Freightliner, Sterling, and Western Star. This 12-week course swiftly puts you in the driver’s seat and on your way down the road to success as a Daimler Trucks service technician.

Ford Accelerated Credential Training (FACT)

This 15-week elective program can be added to our Automotive Technology core program. Ford FACT utilizes an exclusive Ford Motor Company curriculum. You’ll learn all about Ford vehicles, diagnostic equipment, and technical resources.

And you’ll get hands-on training on everything from electronics and climate control systems to anti-lock brakes, steering, suspension, and ignition systems.

Nissan Automotive Technician Training

In this 9-week elective program, which can be added to our Automotive Technology core program, you’ll learn about Nissan systems and procedures while gaining hands-on experience with special Nissan training aids and tools with bumper-to-bumper training on Nissan and Infiniti vehicles and equipment.

Porsche PTAP

Train on new Porsche models while zeroing in on electronics and diagnostics. The 19-week Porsche Technician Apprenticeship Program (PTAP) is operated exclusively in partnership with UTI at the Porsche Training Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Toyota Professional Automotive Technician (TPAT)

Give your career training a powerful boost when you add the Toyota Professional Automotive Technician (TPAT) elective to your training program. Sponsored, endorsed, and equipped by Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., TPAT is offered exclusively for UTI.

Get specialized, bumper-to-bumper training on Toyota, Scion, and Lexus procedures and vehicles.

Volvo SAFE

Acquire focused, hands-on experience with the types of advanced safety and engineering systems that are at the heart of Volvo’s exceptional reputation in this 16-week program.

Because these programs are so specialized, you need to apply, meet certain qualifications, and be accepted into the designated program. You must interview successfully and meet established GPA, attendance, Motor Vehicle record, drug testing, relocation, and entrance-exam requirements.

The dealerships will sponsor your tuition in accordance with established terms of employment.

ASE Master and ASE Master Certified Mechanic Training Programs

Upon NATEF’s review, an evaluation team typically conducts an on-site inspection at mechanic school campuses, reviewing curriculum, teaching techniques, facilities, equipment and training aids, task sheets, tools, budget, and safety measures.

Many automotive and diesel instructors are required to be ASE certified in the areas they teach. Some even obtain the honored distinction of being classified as multiple Master Technicians.

To become ASE Certified, a person must have two years of work experience and pass ASE certification examinations. Some mechanic schools let their graduates substitute their degree training for one year of work experience toward ASE’s two-year work requirement. In addition, most automotive schools will help you prepare for taking the ASE examinations.
