Motorcycle popularity has become mainstream – proven by the increase in riders. With this growth comes the demand for skilled technicians for motorcycle repair and maintenance. At YTI Career Institute’s new Motorcycle Technology Center, you get real-world training in a 15,000-square-foot facility which includes motorcycle diagnostic & test equipment – including a DynoJet ® 250i dynamometer – 16 fully equipped service bays, wireless Internet access throughout the campus, and laptop computers for student use.

YTI’s Motorcycle Technology program is an accelerated 9-month course of study where you work on real motorcycles, including several popular brands: Harley-Davidson, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, BMW, and Buell. You’ll also take coursework to prepare you for your PA State Inspection License. This hands-on experience prepares you for employment in a variety of manufacturers or bike shops.

YTI Career Institute Motorcycle Technology Center

The campus located at 52 Grumbacher Road occupies 15,025 square feet of a 29,360 square foot, a one-story building located in the I-83 Business Center in York, Pennsylvania. The facility includes approximately 6,750 square feet of learning space as well as administrative offices, faculty office space, a reception area, student and faculty lounges, conference rooms, and storage for motorcycles.

Each of the two classrooms is equipped with computers and flat panel monitor and 16 laptops for student use. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the facility. The 225-square-foot Learning Resource Center contains research materials, periodicals, and an area for student assessment testing.

Each of the two Motorsports Technology Labs includes 8 workstations consisting of workbenches, fully equipped tool chests, motorcycle lifts, pneumatic tool connections, exhaust gas removal, and diagnostic/test equipment. The Parts Department is stocked with engine and chassis components for the repair of 35 motorcycles that are stored on-site. A dedicated room contains a dynamometer for advanced diagnostic and performance evaluation.

An outdoor lounge area including picnic tables is located at the south end of the facility. The building is smoke-free, air-conditioned, handicapped accessible, and ADA compliant. There are 98 parking spaces dedicated to YTI students, faculty, and staff. Handicapped parking is provided near the main entrance.
