  • Engine construction and design
  • Engine repair
  • Electricity
  • Electronics
  • Suspension
  • Steering
  • Brakes
  • Transmissions
  • Fuel systems
  • Ignition systems
  • Emission controls

Advanced training is offered in:

  • Air conditioning
  • Drive trains
  • Transaxles

A final performance class covers:

  • Computerized engine controls
  • Fuel injection systems
  • Tailpipe emissions diagnosis
  • ABS braking systems

High-Performance Mechanic Program

NEIT offers an advanced high-performance program in conjunction with the automotive technology program. The advanced high-performance program focuses on developing horsepower and torque by means of bolt-on performance accessories, powertrain modifications, custom powertrain tuning, and suspension tuning. Sweet.

You will have the ability to make modifications and measure horsepower improvements on NEIT-owned vehicles or on your own vehicle on the new Chassis Dynamometer. Nice.

You will also be able to measure horsepower and torque changes produced by the addition and modification of various components, perform custom dyno-tuning on the engine and transmission-related components, and obtain the skills and experience necessary in developing reliable horsepower.
