Working as an avionics technician or aviation maintenance technician may be a good fit for you if you’re the type of person who always has an eye on the sky or if you’ve always been curious about how an airplane operates. Aircraft mechanic duty is diagnosing mechanical or electrical issues, replacing damaged parts, checking the finished product to make sure it meets performance criteria.,

An airplane mechanic’s daily duties include identifying electrical and mechanical issues, fixing various systems (electrical, brake, etc.), hydraulic, pneumatic, and avionic components, and replacing damaged or inadequate components. Technicians test the parts to ensure proper operation when maintenance is finished.

A Certificate of Completion or an Associate of Science degree in the Aviation Maintenance Technology program at SJVC can be obtained in as little as 17 months.
