  • Audi Academy. Get hands-on training centered around the 100-year history of dynamic styling and performance. This 16-week program is offered at the Audi Academy located at CTG’s Avondale, Arizona; and Exton Pennsylvania facilities.
  • BMW Step. Work on the latest BMW models and advanced automotive technologies as you gain in-depth training. BMW’s Service Technician Education Program (STEP) is a 27 – week intensive training course available in Avondale, Arizona; Ontario, California; Orlando, Florida; Upper Saddle River, New Jersey; and Houston, Texas.
  • Ford Accelerated Credential Training (FACT). Is your desire to work at a Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury dealership? Consider FORD FACT. This 15-week elective program can be added to our Automotive Technology core program. Ford FACT utilizes an exclusive Ford Motor Company curriculum. You’ll learn all about Ford vehicles, diagnostic equipment, and technical resources. And you’ll get hands-on training on everything from electronics and climate control systems to anti-lock brakes, steering, suspension, and ignition systems.
  • Mercedes-Benz Elite. Acquire bumper-to-bumper skills through hands-on learning while earning Mercedes-Benz training credits in in-service maintenance, diagnosis, and repair. This 16-week program is held at CTG’s facilities in Rancho Cucamonga, California; Orlando, Florida; Glendale Heights, Illinois; Norwood, Massachusetts; and Houston, Texas.
  • Mercedes-Benz Elite (Collision). Hone your collision repair skills at the ELITE Collision Repair Training (CRT) program, an eight-week program held in Houston, Texas.
  • Nissan Automotive Technician Training. Is Nissan a manufacturer you admire and a company you’d like to work for? Check out Nissan NATT. In this 9-week elective program, which can be added to our Automotive Technology core program, you’ll learn about Nissan systems and procedures while gaining hands-on experience with special Nissan training aids and tools with bumper-to-bumper training on Nissan and Infiniti vehicles and equipment.
  • Porsche PTAP. Train on new Porsche models while zeroing in on electronics and diagnostics. The 19-week Porsche Technician Apprenticeship Program (PTAP) is operated exclusively in partnership with UTI at the Porsche Training Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
  • Toyota Professional Automotive Technician (TPAT). Give your career training a powerful boost when you add the Toyota Professional Automotive Technician (TPAT) elective to your training program. Sponsored, endorsed, and equipped by Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., TPAT is offered exclusively for UTI. Get specialized, bumper-to-bumper training on Toyota, Scion, and Lexus procedures and vehicles.
  • Volkswagen Academy. Learn to diagnose and repair fuel injection, turbochargers, electronics, and computers while working on the latest Volkswagen models. The 16-week Volkswagen Academy Technician Recruitment Program (VATRP) is offered at CTG’s Rancho-Cucamonga, California; and Exton, Pennsylvania facilities.
  • Volvo SAFE. Acquire focused, hands-on experience with the types of advanced safety and engineering systems that are at the heart of Volvo’s exceptional reputation. A 16-week program, the Service Automotive Factory Education (SAFE) course is offered at our Avondale, Arizona location.

Truck Programs

  • Cummins Diesel Training Program. Are you into big engines that move the world? Our Cummins diesel training elective focuses on Cummins mid-range and heavy-duty engines. It’s 12 weeks of major engine work, including intensive computer, the hands-on, classroom, and laboratory-based training. And it gives you a 3- to 5-year head start on Cummins certification.
  • Daimler Trucks Technician Program. As Daimler Trucks of North America (DTNA) moves through its seventh decade in business, its brands – are Freightliner, Sterling, and Western Star. This 12-week course swiftly puts you in the driver’s seat and on your way down the road to success as a Daimler Trucks service technician.
  • Mack Trucks Inc. / Volvo Trucks North America Specialized Technical Training Program. Volvo Trucks North America and Mack Trucks, Inc. provide a specialized training program to students who have completed one year of diesel engine classes. Volvo Trucks North America and Mack Trucks, Inc. will then provide a 9-week intensive training program and assist students with a generous tool allowance.

Mini Cars

  • MINI CARS Advanced Training. Are you ready for a career with a world-class manufacturer that features outstanding performance in signature MINI styling? Check out MINI STEP Advanced Training. MINI STEP provides you with everything you need to get started on a career as a MINI technician. This intensive 10-week program is offered at the MINI Training Center in Orlando, Florida.

1. Audi Academy Technician Program

For over 100 years, Audi has been a leader in the automotive industry. To maintain its leadership role and to meet the ever-growing demand for skilled Audi-trained technicians, Audi of America has teamed up with Universal Technical Institute to create the Audi Academy technician (Audi mechanic school) program.

Audi Academy is part of the Universal Technical Institute Manufacturer-Specific Training program (MSAT), offered through the Custom Training Division, a prestigious and highly selective program that’s designed to provide major manufacturers with high-caliber, exceptionally skilled technician candidates. This program isn’t for everyone. You have to apply for admission. And only a select few are chosen to enroll.

This intensive 16-week training program provides you with everything you need to get started on a career as an Audi technician. Under the guidance of Audi-trained instructors, you’ll learn to use Audi-specific diagnostic equipment and special tools.

You’ll work on the latest Audi models: the A4, S4, A6, A8 sedan, and the sporty TT. You’ll also qualify to earn Audi Technician certification, an important requirement for success as an Audi dealership technician.

If you are accepted into the Audi Academy program, your tuition is paid by Audi of America and its dealerships, so all you have to do is work hard, have fun, and prepare for a great future.

The Custom Training Group (CTG) program is available at Avondale, AZ, and Exton PA locations.

2a. BMW STEP Advanced Mechanic Training

BMW is a leader in automotive design and technology. To maintain its leadership role and to meet the demand for skilled technicians, BMW of North America has chosen UTI as a provider of its Service Technician Education Program (STEP). This program is designed to develop the highest quality service technicians for BMW centers throughout North America.

BMW STEP provides you with everything you need to get started on a career as a BMW technician. In this intensive 27-week program you’ll get in-depth training with some of the most advanced automotive technology and work on the latest BMW models, including the M5, X3, X5 SAV, Z4, 645, and the luxury 7 series. You’ll learn under the guidance of BMW-trained instructors, and you’ll graduate as a BMW-certified diagnostic technician, which places you years ahead of other entry-level BMW technicians.

BMW FastTrack is a 12-week elective program that can be added to our Automotive Technology core program.

BMW FastTrack provides specialized training in BMW vehicles and procedures. You’ll learn all about the BMW onboard diagnostic, engine management, and electronic control systems, along with other elements of BMW repair and maintenance. Plus, you’ll get a head start on your training and make yourself more marketable to BMW dealers in the process.

3. Ford Accelerated Credential Training (FACT)

This 15-week elective program can be added to our Automotive Technology core program. Ford FACT utilizes an exclusive Ford Motor Company curriculum. You’ll learn all about Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles, diagnostic equipment, and technical resources. The Mercedes-Benz ELITE and ELITE CRT training programs will prepare you for an exciting career at a Mercedes-Benz dealership or collision center:

  • Mercedes-Benz ELITE. In this intensive 16-week program you’ll learn to perform service maintenance and repairs according to Mercedes-Benz methods and procedures. You’ll focus on specific job tasks and hands-on learning. You’ll acquire bumper-to-bumper knowledge of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. And as you’re learning you’ll earn Mercedes-Benz training credits in-service maintenance, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Mercedes-Benz ELITE CRT. In this intensive 8-week program you’ll learn to perform structural repairs on Mercedes-Benz vehicles using Mercedes-Benz methods and procedures. You’ll gain a basic understanding of related computer systems and vehicle electronics. You’ll focus on specific job tasks and hands-on learning. And when you complete the program you’ll have earned Mercedes-Benz training credits.

5. Nissan Automotive Technician Training (NATT)

Is Nissan a manufacturer you admire? And a company you’d like to work for? Check out Nissan NATT training at the Nissan mechanic school.

In this 9-week elective program, which can be added to our Automotive Technology core program, you’ll learn about Nissan and Infinity systems and procedures while gaining hands-on experience with special Nissan mechanic school training aids and tools. You’ll receive bumper-to-bumper training on Nissan and Infiniti vehicles and equipment, with a focus on electrical systems, engines, chassis, drive trains, and climate systems.

You’ll earn credit within the Nissan technician certification system that will increase your value to Nissan and Infiniti dealerships and allow you to begin your career at an advanced level. And you’ll get the same level of training that it takes dealership technicians years to complete.

6. Porsche Technology Apprenticeship Program (PTAP)

Porsche has a reputation for designing some of the finest sports cars in the world. To maintain that reputation and to meet the high demand for qualified technicians, Porsche Cars North America has joined forces with Universal Technical Institute to create the Porsche Technology Apprenticeship Program (PTAP) Porsche mechanic school.

Porsche PTAP is part of the UTI Manufacturer-Specific Training program (MSAT), a prestigious and highly selective program that’s designed to provide major manufacturers with high-caliber, exceptionally skilled technician candidates. This program isn’t for everyone. You have to apply for admission. And only a select few are chosen to enroll.

This curriculum for the PTAP is developed by Porsche and emphasizes electronics and diagnostics. In this intensive 19-week program, you’ll get the latest bumper-to-bumper factory training and technical bulletins.

You’ll work with Porsche diagnostic equipment, specialty tools, and the latest Porsche models, including the Boxster lineup, Carrera Coupe, Carrera Convertible, and the 911 Twin Turbo. And when you complete the program, you’ll be qualified as a Porsche service technician—ready to start your career at a Porsche dealership.

Tuition for PTAP is paid by Porsche Cars North America and the Porsche dealer with whom you sign an employment agreement, so all you have to do is work hard, have fun, and get ready for a great future.

The 19-week Porsche Technician Apprenticeship Program (PTAP) is operated exclusively in partnership with UTI at the Porsche Training Center (Porsche mechanic school) in Atlanta, Georgia.

7. Toyota Professional Automotive Technician (TPAT)

You’ll give your career training a powerful boost when you add the Toyota Professional Automotive Technician (TPAT) elective to your Automotive Technology or Diesel Technology training program. Sponsored, endorsed, and equipped by Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., TPAT is offered exclusively at Universal Technical Institute Toyota mechanic school.

Toyota, Scion and Lexus dealers across the United States are rapidly growing and to keep up with this growth, they urgently need certified technicians trained to work on the advanced technologies of Toyota, Scion, and Lexus vehicles. To help fill this demand, TPAT recruits from the Toyota mechanic school, and trains and helps place qualified technicians in entry-level positions at the 1,400 Toyota/Scion and Lexus dealerships nationwide.

The Toyota-specific curriculum of TPAT will prepare you for career opportunities at a Toyota, Scion, or Lexus dealership. During the nine-week elective, you’ll get specialized, bumper-to-bumper training on Toyota, Scion, and Lexus procedures and vehicles, including the Toyota Prius with its hybrid drive system. You’ll work with the latest technology, tools, and equipment while servicing and repairing the number one vehicle in the world.

TPAT can be added to an Automotive or Diesel training program by any UTI student who has completed the Automotive Technology Program. TPAT training makes it possible for you to earn Toyota and Lexus technician factory certifications that will increase your value to dealerships and allow you to advance more quickly in your career.

The TPAT curriculum is identical to the training that Toyota provides to dealership technicians. The accelerated training offered by TPAT makes it possible for you to complete training in just nine weeks which generally takes dealership technicians years to finish. You’ll learn from experienced Toyota factory-trained and certified instructors.

TPAT students become eligible to receive technician factory certification by Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., after completing Toyota’s externship requirements and fulfilling certain other conditions during the 8-week externship. As a TPAT graduate, Universal Technical Institute will assist you in identifying employment opportunities at more than 1,400 Toyota/Scion and Lexus dealerships throughout the county.

Thanks to TPAT’s Toyota-specific training, Toyota/Scion and Lexus dealerships know that when they hire a TPAT graduate they won’t have to invest the significant time and money typically required to train entry-level employees. Many TPAT students are hired even before they graduate.*
